Waynesboro, GA – May 01, 2012 – Sam Dong Co., Ltd, a South Korean based Magnet Wire manufacturer, today announced the acquisition of remaining assets of Metrod’ s manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, GA.

The assets include a 200,000 square feet production building, 50 acre tract of land and  production lines which had been previously installed and operated by ASTA Inc., a Metrod Group company

Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC) is electrical winding material and one of the most important components of Power Transformers which is essential equipment in Energy Transmission and Distribution industry. Detail information of CTC can be found at website www.samdongamerica.com.

This acquisition and expansion of CTC capacity by Sam Dong is focused on customer satisfaction and aligned with the trend of localization of Power Transformer Industry and growth in Energy industry in North America which has one of the biggest energy demands in the World.

Sam Dong expects the factory to employ 60 people initially and up to 150 when it is in full production.
